North America

California

CALIFORNIA: LAX → JOSHUA TREE → MOJAVE DESERT → DEATH VALLEY → LAX

Escaping into desolate southeast California. This album includes Death Valley, North America's driest, lowest, and hottest place; Joshua Tree, where Hidden Valley's rocky beauty is surpassed only by the night sky's infinite stars; and the Mojave Desert, where you'll see true desolation. Tips: cell service and amenities are sparse, and have 4WD if you want to see it all.

CALIFORNIA: SAN FRANCISCO → MENDOCINo → San Francisco

Exploring the highlights of California's less-appreciated northern coast. This route documents the coast from San Francisco to the coastal town of Mendocino before looping back to SF. Tip: California coastal weather is unpredictable; bring layers!

Colorado

Colorado: Denver Area in a weekend

Stunning mountains, secluded lakes, college towns, great sports, varied seasons... Colorado has it all. This album shows the Denver area in Autumn, including Boulder, University of Colorado football, and a hike to a glacier!

Connecticut

NEW YORK, CONNECTICUT & RHODE ISLAND: LONG ISLAND SOUND COAST

The Long Island Sound offers some of the most beautiful coastline in the east. From quaint villages, to historic port towns, to incredible estates like those on the Gold Coast - including the East and West Eggs, where Gatsby looked across the bay at the green light. This trip explores the Connecticut coast from NYC through to Rhode Island, including stunning Watch Hill. Take the ferry to Long Island's north fork; not only a great trip but also a wonderful way to avoid summer Hamptons traffic!

Maine

MAINE: PORTLAND → BRISTOL → BAR HARBOR → PORTLAND

Loaded with rustic charm, this album starts in Portland, runs Maine's stunning rocky coast, and ends in Bar Harbor, nestled on an island alongside beautiful Acadia National Park. Charming fishing towns, casual lobster shacks, and (what I didn't know before the trip) antique shop after antique shop after antique shop... Tip: Maine's coast has literally thousands of islands to explore, but getting to them takes time; build in time if you intend to explore them.

Oregon

Oregon: Portland & Columbia River Gorge

Portland is a wonderful city of local breweries, warm restaurants, quirky shops, and hipster coffee spots. Simultaneously, it offers incredibly easy access to awe-inspiring scenery. In less than an hour you can be admiring some of the country's most beautiful waterfalls, including Multnomah, Oregon's tallest (627ft). This trip also includes one of my all-time favorite hikes - accessible, short, and a tremendous coolness-to-effort ratio!

Vermont

Vermont: Southern Vermont and Hanover

Vermont not only offers some of the best autumn colors in the world, but also covered bridges, old mills, charming towns, and everything else you associate with historic New England. Dartmouth University is just over the state border in Hanover, New Hampshire, and it's worth touring campus while in the area.

South America

Argentina

Argentina: Buenos Aires area and Patagonia

It's tough to see all of Argentina in one trip. Buenos Aires is vibrant, varied, and cultured. You can spend an entire vacation there, then find serenity with day or weekend trips to Tigre (the "Venice of Buenos Aires"), Colonia (historic town in Uruguay), Mendoza (wine country), or an Estancia. Patagonia is a hiker's dream, loaded with mind-blowing landscapes. This large region warrants an entire vacation in itself, and is one of my favorite places in the world. This album also includes photos from portions of Route 40, the longest route in Argentina and one of the longest in the world.

Europe

England

England: London, Cotswolds, Bath, Cheddar Gorge, Somerset, Salisbury, Stonehenge

Architectural marvels, unreal animal behaviors, 5000 year old mysteries, the world's most famous quaint villages, and more. The English countryside has so much to offer. This out-and-back route can be done in a weekend from London. The best timing to see the starling murmurations in Somerset is late Autumn. Enjoy!
